Twergi

Year: 1991
Company: Alessi-Twergi
Designer: Giovanni Levanti

Twergi was a new chapter of  Alessi adventure that in 1989 discovered the company Battista Piazza founded in 1865 in Loreglia in  the Strona valley. The aim was a re-launch of some historic objects of the valley crafsmanship together with new ones: starring wood and its manufacturing. I am still very fond of the CT1427 fruit bowl I designed. Made from alder on a wood-turning lathe, it is one of those projects which convey their function straightly and undoubtedly.
